Interesting how when this species is 3″ in length, and viewed at the right angle, this Central Pacific fish is slightly more orange/red than deep red like the Indian Ocean counterpart- Bodianus opercularis. Just one more characteristic that differentiates these two species from my observations of caring for both species back to back in the last few months.
